With the current global pandemic affecting cricket clubs across the country, I have being trying to find a way to support my own club Loughton CC whilst also raising funds for the NHS.

As a youngster, one of the innings I marvelled at was Michael Athertons heroic defiance of the South African bowling attack in 1995. Batting for 643 mins and scoring 185 not out.

So i thought, why not give it a go. On Sunday 30th June I will start batting at 8am till 9pm with a 10 minute break every hour, totalling 650 mins. If you would like to make a contribution and be a part of this challenge by bowling for period of time that would be fantastic.

Please contact me regarding times to come to the ground to bowl. Any standard, age, action or dog stick will do!
