In October myself (Ben Palmer) and Rachael Burley will be running the Cardiff Half Marathon for Carly Taylor an amazing, inspiring and strong young women, this could be the beginning of bigger things to come!

"In 2011 Carly Taylor was left paralysed from the shoulders down after an accident. Today Carly’s adventure continues to eventually walk again…

Previous to the accident, Carly was a bubbly, lively, determined 22 year old who had many great avenues to follow in life. But as many plans change, Carly’s life changed drastically on the 5th November 2011 after falling from a wall 15ft into a rocky shallow river that resulted in Carly breaking her neck and back which has left her permanently paralysed.

Carly has always been an active sports lover from surfing to swimming and was very involved in the netball community, from coaching and playing netball at a high level. Carly has an infectious personality, caring, funny and loyal.

Since her accident Carly has surpassed everyone’s expectations proving what a strong and determined person she is and she is such an inspiration.
Carly knows hard work is key to her progress which has been proven to be true as great improvements have shone through her incredible journey. Some days are not always easy and there are ups and downs, Carly has overcome so many hurdles and true to form, Carly is unwilling to succumb to her prognosis of never walking again and is determined each day to prove everyone wrong.
