I'm raising £750 to Help the dogs at Brown Street Kennels

Story

I am the supervisor at Brown Street Kennels, and I’m aiming to raise £750 for our dogs by taking part in the 20-mile Kilt Walk!

Brown Street Kennels has a special place in my heart; it’s where I landed my first job when I left school. We have been caring for stray and unwanted dogs since the 60s, and I’m proud to work at a facility that has maintained such a high standard of care and cleanliness since it was rebuilt in 2008. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to ensure the dogs enjoy their stay, find their perfect forever homes, and are safely reunited with their owners whenever possible.

I am taking part in the Kilt Walk for three main reasons:

1. To raise essential funds: Every penny goes directly toward the welfare of the dogs in our care, both present and future. These funds help us cover vital vet bills, food, and bedding, as well as building improvements to enhance and enrich the dogs' living and exercise areas.

2. To show support: I want to stand alongside the other incredible people who are raising money for us during the Kilt Walk.

3. In memory of my rescue dog Frazer who sadly passed away this year at the grand age of 18 years old. I rescued him in 2010 from Brown Street and he was the best dog, I miss him terribly.

While Brown Street Kennels is run by Dundee City Council, extra donations are absolutely essential to ensure we can continue providing this vital service to the dogs who need us most.

Please consider donating to support the cause—every bit helps us make a real difference to these dogs while they wait for their new families!
