Story

This summer I will be undertaking an engineering project backed by the Fijian Government, in which I will be spending three weeks volunteering within a rural island in Fiji. During these three weeks I will contribute to village life working on plantations and build a new community centre from scratch using traditional carpentry techniques. The project aims to help communities effected by Cyclone Winston in 2016.

Project Aims

- Achieve the creation of the entire building from foundations to completion (building aims include creating community centres, school classrooms and health clinics).

-Experience More Basic Way of Life – live with Fijian families and immerse into Fijian culture.

-Build a tangible, lasting difference to the lives of local people.
