Story

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I'm a student living in Portsmouth who has decided to leave university due to a combination of family issues at home and my own deteriorating mental health, and start anew at a different university come this September.

However, I have already signed a tenancy agreement for a house, with my father as guarantor. It seems that I can't get out of my contractual financial obligations to the landlord, and will therefore have to pay rent until summer next year. Failure to do so will result in very hefty fines, a court case, and even bailiffs turning up to my parents' home and taking everything they deem to be of worth.

I'm doing my best to fulfil my obligations, including having applied for dozens of jobs, and saving up as much money as I possibly can. But the fact of the matter is that my family are very strapped for cash; my parents having low paying jobs and being in a multitude of debt.

This is genuinely a disaster, as unless I find some sort of financial help, bailiffs will come to take possession of my parents' belongings, and I will not be able to continue with university, ending my career before it even begins and having to pay off a huge amount of debt with no means in which to do so. Furthermore, my father's mental health has deteriorated because of this whole situation, and is understandably losing a lot of sleep.

I know I may not sound deserving of help, but I'm running out of options fast. So I beg anyone to please, please help out with any financial donation possible. Big or small, it will be genuinely appreciated.

Thank you.
