Story
Thank you for visiting my page.
5 years ago my dad sadly lost his life to suicide. To commemorate his life, I have decided to combine three of his favourite things - running, Big Macs and stupid challenges.
Running was always a big aspect of my dad's life, running his first marathon at 17 because he "felt like it". It took him all over the world and raised thousands of pounds for charity. It led us to complete the Great Wall of China Marathon together, a memory I will never forget.
On April 12th, I will be running a 30-mile ultramarathon from Preston to Blackpool via 9 different McDonald's, where I will eat a Big Mac at each restaurant.
I will be raising money for two fantastic causes. Get Kids Going is a national charity which gives disabled children and young people, up to the age of 26 years, the wonderful opportunity of participating in sport. This was the first charity my Dad started fundraising for before being inspired to create his own charity - A Smile for a Child, which raised over £1,000,000 for disabled children to progress in sport and mobility.
The second is Andy's Man Club, they are a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online. They were fantastic in supporting me after my dad's passing, and I can not thank them enough for the hard work they do.
The money will be split evenly between the two fantastic charities. It would mean the world if you could support me in celebrating my Dad's life.
