Story

Ben Shires, Matthew Peggie and Craig Lamb are all year 12 students at the Cramlington Learning Village. They have been given an amazing opportunity, through World Challenge 2019, to go to Malaysia and take part in a conservation program helping sea turtles.

Malaysia is fortunate to host four species of marine turtles: Leatherback, Green, Hawksbill, and Olive ridley turtles. These gentle reptiles of the sea swim great distances and come on land only to nest. They are known for their longevity among local cultures. Sadly, the number of marine turtles in most places has plummeted and some populations are on the brink of extinction. Female turtles lay hundreds of eggs each nesting season. But relatively few young survive into their first year.

In order to achieve this dream of helping on this amazing project, the boys need to raise money to fund this. They will be carrying out a huge range of fund raising from themed restaurant nights, Christmas stalls and race nights but they are also hoping that your generosity would boost their efforts.

Every pound that you donate gets them a little closer to this fantastic opportunity and no donation is too small.

Many Thanks,

Ben, Matty & Craig
