I've raised £200 to support the Bendigo Memorial Fund. Sponsored walk on Sunday 29th April 2018, along the 5.7 mile route of Bendigo’s funeral cortege in 1880.

On Sunday 29th April 2018, 21 of us walked the route of Bendigo’s funeral cortege. This was from his home at Wollaton Road in Beeston to his grave at Bath Street in the City Centre, a distance of 5.7 miles. The walk took 2 hours and inlcuded all ages.
The twenty one people doing the walk, represented Bendigo's 21 fights.
Each of the 21 will be expected to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship.
Despite his fame, Nottingham's only recognition to Bendigo is a weathered and damaged ceramic statue above an old public house.
Bendigo deserves better recognition than this. He deserves a permanent public memorial that is fitting of his legacy. The story of Bendigo is inspiring not only to the people of Nottingham but the world over.
We are determined to raise enough money in order to commission and create a statue of Bendigo.
We can only do this with the financial support of the public and in turn, the statue will belong to us all.
Thank you for visiting and for supporting us.
