Story

Benenden Nepal Trip 2019

In December 2019, 19 of us will be going to Nepal. While there, we will be trekking up and down the Annapurna region for 9 days. We will also be doing some charity work while there, in the hope to benefit not only ourselves but also the wider Nepalese community. We have chosen to support three charities: The Gurkha Welfare Trust, Bloom School, and the PAHAR Trust. This is the fundraising page for all three charities, where the donations will be split equally to each one. Any donations, however big or small, will be hugely appreciated. Thank you for your support and for helping us achieve our goal!

The Gurkha Welfare Trust is a British charity established in 1969. It is the principal UK charity dedicated to the provision of aid to Gurkha ex-servicemen and their dependants in their homeland of Nepal, and increasingly in the UK and elsewhere.

Bloom Nepal School has the mission to expand to 8 schools located at major educational hubs spanning across Nepal by 2030. These schools will have technical and vocational offering, alternative/online education, colleges and universities all working together to establish stronghold of superior education practices in Nepal. They aim to produce creative, innovative and entrepreneurially spirited leaders who are highly trained in the field of their interest.

The PAHAR Trust helps to improve education, health, and sanitation facilities for remote communities in Nepal. They aim to provide some of the world's poorest children with a high standard of education and support them to realise their potential while building skills and resilience within the community.
