Weʼve raised £1,240 to Help get Ben Moreham to China to compete for Great Britain in the 2018 World SUP & Paddleboard Championships

Funded on Friday, 15th February 2019

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

In November 2018 Ben will be representing Great Britain in the World SUP & Paddleboard Championships taking place in Wanning, China.

We were all thrilled when Ben was selected to be part of Team Great Britain to compete in the Under 18 category. This is the first time that Under 18's have been at the World Championships and competition will be tough. Ben will be racing a 12ft 6in board in the technical and sprint race - how he stands up on it is quite beyond me! This is a huge deal for him and we couldn't be prouder.

Ben has been training hard and has won various Spanish titles over the past few years, it is a massive achievement to get this far and he really wants to bring the title back for Great Britain.

The Team receive no government funding at all, to get the 12 riders together with their boards, paddles and kit to China is a huge expense. We have received some wonderful support already and this page has really been set up as I know some people would like to help Ben directly. We can't thank everyone enough who have already supported the Team crowdfunding.

If you could help at all in getting Ben to China, we would be super grateful. We will keep you updated as to how he is doing.

If things go well in China, Ben intends to take a year out next year and travel off in his camper van doing the Euro circuit! Becoming a doctor will just have to hold on a while!

Thank you again so much for your support, Ben's dream is that one day SUP will become an Olympic sport and that he might just be able to represent Great Britain again.........Thank you everyone. xxx
