We need your help to keep our club open!
Who we are: We are Bennochy Community Hub (Polish Club Kirkcaldy) SCIO - a group of trustees trying to continue and expand the work of the Polish Club in Kirkcaldy.
The Polish Club has been an integral part of the local community since 1953 and was originally set up by the Polish soldier veterans from WWII as they settled into their new lives in Scotland. The building and surrounding premises have played a vital part in the community, supporting not only the local Polish people over the years ensuring the Polish traditions, culture and heritage thrive but also the wider Scottish network and as such the relationship between the two nationalities is tightly interconnected. It has evolved into a community building with many various groups, clubs and organisations using the premises for their meetings (including a Polish School every Saturday for over 100 children).
Why we need your support: The deeds to the premises are owned by a London-based company and they now want to sell the listed building - this would be devastating to the community and all the people who use it, including the several generations who have volunteered and worked hard to keep it going.
How you can help: Simply put, we need to raise enough donations to be able to buy the building and the surrounding grounds so we may continue supporting the local people and community who depend upon it.
Our aim is to buy the premises and continue the work we’ve been doing, ensuring the longevity of this special social space.
Any and all donations are welcome to help us raise the funds to be able to save our club.
