I've raised £3000 to donate to Help Refugees & Refugee Community Kitchen who provide humanitarian aid to the ongoing European refugee crisis

In December 2017, we spent two weeks volunteering in Calais for Help Refugees and the Refugee Community Kitchen and raised just over £2,000, which went towards purchasing biodegradable crockery used to feed the many hundreds of displaced people who've ended up in Northern France. Upon our return to the UK, it soon became very apparent that there was not enough awareness about the crisis in Calais and we began thinking how we could try to change this. We decided it would be worthwhile to take three of our friends to Calais once a month for a weekend of volunteering and are keeping this donation page active so these friends can raise more funds for the aforementioned charities.
Eighteen months since the Calais camp was closed, approximately 700 refugees remain living on the streets and in the woods, totally ill-equipped for the winter months ahead. These people are simply seeking a better life, having fled the country they live in through fear, and other inhumane situations most of us couldn't imagine. We are raising money to be donated directly to Help Refugees, to help them continue the work they have started in Calais, but also in Greece and beyond.
