    Story

This is Benny our 3 year old male cat. Benny is 1 of 6 cats that we currently have. On Good Friday another one of our female cats, Willow, was hit by a speeding moped in our street. She managed to get herself home and onto my daughters bed but later passed away on route to the vet. 1 month later Benny was hit/run over by a car that was reportedly going far too fast for our street. He was found by my very distraught partner shaking and unable to move under a neighbours bush. We took him to the out of hours vet where he had to stay overnight after having pain relief. The following day before the vet could perform an x ray we had to find funds to pay for the overnight stay, treatment and assessment. Fortunately we managed this on a payment scheme. An x ray confirmed he had a fractured pelvis in 3 places. The vets have allowed him home aslong as he is kept in a cage for 6 weeks and gets regular pain relief. If he doesn’t recover enough within cage rest period the surgery maybe considered but this could be upto £3000!!!! According to the vet Benny is an incredibly brave and strong cat who is lucky to be alive as it is possible the car actually ran over his back end. We’ve lived at this address for 14 years and have always had cats, untill now none of them have been injured in the road and now 2 within 4 weeks of each other. The next 10 months will be a struggle repaying the £700 bill already acrued let alone a bill that could run into the thousands. You’re donations will be recieved with many thanks and any remaining funds that aren’t used in Bennys treatment will be passed on to a local charity known as Woodside Animal Sanctuary which our family support regularly.

Once again, your donations and generosity will be very much appreciated.

    Thankyou.
