Story

Ben the Bengal came to live with us about 6 months ago when he chose us at the Cat Protection shelter. At 13 years old he wasn’t a young chap but his irresistable character won us over and he came to live with us.

We made a decision not to insure Ben as the monthly premiums were very high and due to his age excluded various common illnesses. Little were we to know at this point what an adventurer Ben was going to be!

On a recent adventure Ben was unfortunately hit by a car (massive thanks to the kind lady that took him to the vets) and suffered catastrophic injury to his back right leg. Following 2 nights in pussy cat ICU the decision was made to amputate the affected leg. The revovery period to follow will be awful for an active cat like Ben but we are assured by the vet that this is the best course of action for Ben. None of this has come cheap but we will do what is needed to give Ben the best life he can have following his accident.

We fully accept it was our choice not to insure him however if you feel able to donate any amount to help towards Bens vet bill we would be most grateful.

Thank you

Helen and Steve
