Story
It is estimated that at least 21,000 young people and children in Wales under the age of 18 have experienced the death of a parent or sibling and at least 37,000 may have been bereaved of a close friend or another close family member.
The College of Human and Health Sciences at Swansea University, in partnership with Cruse Bereavement Care, will be offering support sessions specifically to children and young people in the Swansea area from early 2017.
Groups of of up to 8 children will meet one evening a week for 6 weeks, and have a chance to take part in facilitated group activities designed to encourage sharing of grief experiences.
To help support this incredible service a group of 31 have signed up to raise funds by completing the iNVNCBL 10k Mud Run in Margam park on the 4th March. All money raised will be spent on play and craft materials to be used during the sessions and to pay for a fun away day at the end of the programme.
This will be a real challenge for many of us taking part, so please help support this amazing cause and help make a real difference to the lives of local children.
