Story

The success of the just giving appeal at the start of 2022, provided the boys and girls much needed equipment to be used in training especially footballs which last no longer than 3 months, because of the bare, hard area with no grass at all where they train. This was followed by providing goals posts and nets at the pitch. The support from this page has given the coach the opportunity to purchase football strips and second hand football boots to play friendly matches against other village teams around the area. This was a great success and the growth in the club has been huge , with over 90 children now attending sessions with Ahmed , the coach. Ahmed always had an ambition to get teams into a league, so with our support an under 15 team Bostol Newtonians, joined the local Mombasa League in October 2023 , but playing in Mombasa has a cost for transport and food for during the day of games. We now have ambitions to get more age groups into the league with new strips and football boots. These boys had nothing to fill in their days (many cannot afford to go to school) but football has given them a focus and keeps them away from the bad side of life. This is long term commitment of support for Ahmed, the Coach, and his boys and girls. The success of this funding will be vital, along side our other fund raising efforts. Any help will be appreciated by Ahmed and his players as they really need mini soccer goals, training equipment, replacement footballs , first aid kits , shin pads and more strips for the younger teams. Thank you to the UK football equipment supplier The Soccer Store for their kind donation https://www.thesoccerstore.co.uk/
