Story

Albert has bilateral anophthalmia, meaning that he was born without eyes. Albert is bright, loving and a happy inspiration to all who know him, but he will never be able to see.

As easy going as Albert is, he needs regular trips to Great Ormand Street and Moorfields Hospital for specialist care. He needs other sources of stimulation to help develop his other senses and this all comes at a price. This is why Bertie's Bikers are riding some 60 odd miles to raise as much money as possible to help Albert's Mummy and Daddy with getting him to his hospital appointments, to help provide him with the sensory equipment he needs to develop and even just to give him that little extra funding to allow him to experience things that other children take for granted.

Thank you so much for your support. If you feel like supporting us even more then, by all means, join us for the ride! It takes part on the 14th of July 2019 and registration can be done https://www.bike-events.co.uk/Booking2.aspx?id=652&x=y . Just make sure that you select the Team Entry option and select 'Bertie's Bikers' when asked to join an existing team.

Thank you so much!
