Story

I have increased the goal slightly in order to be able to gift New Life Church for heating, lighting and refreshments costs. They have given us the venue for free, so it would be wonderful to be in the position to give them a donation.

The ABRSM examination board closed our local music examination centre which meant Congleton music students would have had to travel to Crewe or Stoke to take their practical music exams. Our students would be arriving with cold hands and not be able to perform to their best potential.

A small team of volunteers have arranged for the ABRSM examiners to visit Congleton on Saturday 15th December 2018. Being able to sit exams locally means students will be able to practice / warm up properly before the exam giving them the best opportunity to achieve excellent exam results in a friendly welcoming venue run by a team of lovely volunteers.

Any extra funds collected will in turn by donated to New Life Church who have provided their wonderful premises free of charge for the whole day.

Going forward, we have sourced new exam premises at Shackleford Pianos in Macclesfield from Spring 2019 so this will be the final exam visit we will need to fund raise for.

A special thank you to everyone who has supported us. Special thanks to Steve Hodgkinson and Louise Davies from New Life Church, Clive Reid, Congleton Rotary Club, Congleton Youth Orchestra, Peter Buckby from the Trinity exam board, and Aaron Shackleford of Shackleford Pianos.
