    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Hi, I'm Beth and I am 15 years old.

I volunteered and was selected by my school, Gleniffer High, to go to Malawi in 2018 as part of a fundraising and volunteer team working with the Classrooms for Malawi charity. I aim to raise funds to allow me to visit Dzenza Primary School in Malawi, working for 16 days helping to renovate classrooms in the school, to provide the children there with proper teaching facilities of which they are in desperate need.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” Nelson Mandela

I came across this statement in the Classrooms for Malawi Website (please give the site a visit) and it had the most profound affect on me. It’s so simple and so true. If I want to be a part of helping to fight this war against poverty, then I want to be part of providing something that will make a real difference. An education. I am in the fortunate position of living in a county where education is free and available in well-equipped classrooms with huge resources available to us. Spend even 5 mins researching the life of children in Malawi and you are left in no doubt how much of a privilege that is and how much I take my life for granted.

I want to change that by doing my part to make a difference. To help to alleviate poverty through education.

I need to raise funds in excess of £3,500 in order to contribute and make my trip to Malawi. To raise this money, I will be carrying out a whole range of fundraising events, and will be working myself to contribute directly to this overall target. I will do this during my 4th and 5th year at school, while studying for exams, and will make my trip at the end of my 5th year in June 2018.

This is a huge target for me but I am determined to make this trip and do my small part in bringing improved educational facilities to the children of Dzenza Primary School, Malawi.

Please help me to help this great cause by contributing to my fund.

    Thank you so much
