As many of you know I am a keen Morris Dancer for New Springs and have been pretty much all my life! It is a fantastic community for girls from as young as two that provides a great opportunity to make some lifelong friendships and to develop lots of social and physical skills. We regularly take part in competitions each week leading up to an annual Championships giving the girls and myself an amazing weekend away to compete and to most importantly bond as a team. Our fabulous principles put on an amazing inclusive Presentation night to celebrate the success and to praise all who have participated throughout the dancing season through many extrinsic rewards.
However for all of this to take place there is of course an element of money that is brought into question. To cover the cost of things such as a dress for each girl, transport for competitions or something as simple as a medal for a young child we have done lots of fundraising. Despite having several bagpacks, bingo nights and jumble sales etc we are still in need of help with our fundraising to make sure we can continue our superb hobby and livelihood. As the internet is now in our hands I figured why not use it and invite you, my supporting friends and family, to sponsor me and my dancing family in our Sponsored Dance taking place on the 14th November.
