I've raised £500 to enable me to travel to Sri Lanka for my World Challenge Expedition where I will support local communities to rebuild their schools.

I'm a 15 year old high school student and have just signed up to complete a World Challenge Expedition to Sri Lanka in 2019. Having successfully completed my bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award recently, I was keen to look for a new challenge and ways to help others.
World Challenge offers me the opportunity to travel further afield and offer support in overseas communities in need. As part of this expedition I will live alongside the people in a rural community learning about their way of life and some of the difficulties they face. Whilst there, I will work as part of a team to help the local people to rebuild their school so that their children can receive the education they need to be able to face a happier and more secure future.
In order to fulfill the challenge, I have to fund the expedition myself. As a fulltime student this is very difficult but I have already organised several bake sales, car washing and an abseil and am looking into other ways I can raise the money over the next year.
I am determined to raise all of the funds myself and any donations you feel able to make, no matter how small, will make a big difference and be very gratefully received.
Thank you.
