I've raised £4500 to sponsor me as I swim across the English channel.

I’m attempting to swim across the channel. “Why?” I hear you ask. At times I’m not really sure either, ha! I remember the first time my swim coach, Paul, shared his experience swim crossing from here to France, before I could even answer, feelings of inspiration and liberation filled me! From that point on, I’ve met people along this journey who have shown me that anything is possible if you are willing to be comfortable with the uncomfortable and able dig deep when it counts. The drive for me to take on this quest has been very deep, I can only compare it to a magnet pulling me in - it is something that I knew I had to try. And in this moment of time I am fortunate enough to be able to focus my all (and when I say that - that is no exaggeration) into the training that’s required, it really does involve every ounce of my being. So here goes as I make my attempt to swim across the great British Channel - WOOP WOOP!
“Nothing great is easy” is a quote that keeps coming to mind as I swim and that is something I hold on to.
My window is from the 27th August-2nd September, position number 3. So all I can do is try my best whilst training and hope that the rest aligns!
I remember reading that swimming is the loneliest sport. When I swim I do find it very solitary but I could not do it without my wonderful team; my fabulous coaches, my sports physio-therapist, my personal trainer and friends and family who are supporting me along the way.
I really appreciate every kind encouraging word, every cheer and every penny - I can’t thank you enough.
A bit of information about where the money that you're donating goes -
The money we’re raising, is to help fund the event itself (the boat, pilot, admission fee’s etc), and then the rest is being donated to the MS society. I’ve chosen this charity because I was previously diagnosed with MS after loosing sight in my right eye, which is now recovered, amazingly due to healthier lifestyle choices (and some may say Divine healing), I’ve been able to live a life symptom-free, where even the lesions that once were on my spine and brain have improved. Praise be!
