Story

Beth Pye

Hello, my name is Beth Pye and I absolutely love playing tennis.I have been training really hard for the last 3 years in the hope that I can become a professional player/coach and represent Great Britain at Wimbledon. To help me achieve this, I need more individual lessons to help improve my technique and regular “hitting” sessions to help me use the technique in matches.

Background

I started playing tennis at the age of 9 years old and turned 12 in August this year.I play at two clubs, Beckford in Gloucestershire and Malvern in Worcestershire.

2018 has been a great year for me!

In January, I was part of the trio of players selected to represented Malvern Tennis Academy in the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Davis Cup. My team beat teams from 6 other clubs in the County to win the title.

In June, I was 1 of 4 girls chosen to represent Herefordshire and Worcestershire County team in the 12 and Under (12U) County Cup, which was held in Wrexham. We won the Regional Title of County Cup Winners and then progressed onto the National Finals.

I was then selected as part of the same team for the National Finals and travelled to Bolton where my team came 6th overall in the Country.

In the same month, I also won the Malvern Tennis Academy Road to Wimbledon Tournament where I had the opportunity to play in the County Finals.

In July I won both the 12U and 14U doubles events at the “Malvern Open Grade 3” tournament and in August won the 12U doubles event at the “Leamington Open Grade 3” doubles tournament.

In August, at the County Closed I came 2nd in the 12U singles, 1st in the 14U doubles and 2nd in the 12U doubles.

During 2018, I represented the Ladies Team at Malvern, starting in the C team and worked my way up to A team. I also played in the Mixed team and represented the Beckford Tennis Club Ladies A Team.

I am currently rated a 7.2 and on the 1/10/2018 was ranked 57th in the Country at my age group.

Current Training

I attend a 2 hour performance training session every week, attend a 2 hour County training session every other week and have had ad hoc one-to-one (individual) lessons. I also have a private “hitting session” with a Level 1 coach on an ad hoc basis plus additional visits to play tennis with my friends/family.

I would love to reach the top 40 in the Country (for my age),and achieve my dream of playing at Wimbledon. In tennis terms,I started late,at the age of 9, so in order for this to happen, I need to improve my technique. To do this I need to have more individual lessons and more regular “hits”.

So basically I would really apreciate help in two areas:

1.Help with the extra lessons:

For me to have two individual lesson each week it will cost approx £2600 per year and a weekly hitting session will cost £520 and to continue the weekly performance group will cost £540. This totals £3660 per year.

2.Help with additional costs.

I have detailed below some of the additional costs my parents incur.

New pair of tennis shoes, approximately every 3 months £60 each pair

Broken strings on racket, approximately every 3 months £25 each time

Entry to tournaments (approximately 2 per month) £20 per tournament

travel to tournaments £200 per year

New racket (x2)will be required in the next year £300 total

This totals £1320 per year for additional costs

If any business would be kind enough to sponser me £250 or over,or would offer me a longer term sponsership, then, if you would like, I would happily get your logo or name printed on some of my clothing etc,to show your support!

I will send you updates on my progress and my successes.

if you have any suggestions or wish to discuss sponsership we can also be reached at

Thank you

Beth
