I've raised £250 to work alongside Moving Together using dance in the community of Ahmedabad. I will be running sessions for the women and children in the area.

In January I am going to be embarking on a journey to some of the poorest and most vulnerable communities in Gujarat, India. The communities in Ahmedabad are living in tough conditions, many children are not able to be looked after by their parents and when they are, family life is tough.
In the UK we are extremely privileged in many ways. One of the ways I have been privileged is through the chance to go to dance classes from a young age. DMU Square Mile India will give me an opportunity to use that privilege and give it back to those children and adults in the Gandhi Ashram. I will be working alongside Moving Together to deliver dance sessions at Manav Sadhna community centres in Ahmedabad, India. I will be leading workshops with various community groups from pre-school age children to older women.
Together with other students at DMU I will be able to use something I am extremely passionate about to make a real difference. I will be able to bring joy into the lives of the people of Ahmedabad through the arts!
Of course, a work like this isn't cost free. I need to raise £250-£350 to be able to go on this journey to India. Can you help make a difference to the people in this community by donating?
