Story
😚😚😚
Hi my name is Beth my story begins when I was 11 I was in hospital for severe migraines and was just about to leave when the doctor called me back as he forgot to check behind my eyes. I was rushed around for an mri and sent to a lovely cozy room where I found out I had a brain tumour. If he didn't check behind my eyes and just let me walk away I would be dead the next week. My mum was in tears my dad was no where to be found as he hated crying in public and I just laughed... I was in shock and then I cried, For all of two minutes when I pulled myself together and asked the doctor my chances on surviving this. My mum gave permission to tell me and I learnt I had a 30% chance. That was enough for me and I carried on smiling. 3 weeks in hospital, bed bound, 3 major operations and having to learn how to walk again I was home. I went from 4stone odd to 9stone thanks to steroids. I had nerve damage and took a year to gain control over my face as one side was paralysed. My hearing was knocked aswell as my eye muscles. Today I still have yearly hospital appointments, a fitted shunt for the fluid on my brain and I'm low prescription short sighted. I Daren't get my hearing checked out but I know I'm a deaf cow!! Ibam lucky! I survived, I recovered almost fully in 10years which is super fast as it was only my eye muscles left to get better.
For a year I suffered from bullying thanks to my paralysed face and harry Potter glasses with one frosted lense! until one day I stood up for myself but I am proud I stood up for myself as after that I grew a backbone and apart from odd remarks I was bully free. From 13 it went downhill. I won't go into too much detail but I started having depression. I forgot to eat and sleep and go school. I lost weight, got drunk with my friends but I am older and getting better. I am doing an Ann summers fundraiser for these charities and hope you can help me reach my targets. Thank you for reading 😘
