This page is for Beth.

Beth is the kindest, most generous friend you could hope for. She is fabulously artistic, clever and a right laugh. She is also amazing with children, which might be something to do with being on their wavelength!

This June, Beth suffered a heart attack after years of living with a serious eating disorder.

Sadly, as Beth went such a long time without oxygen, we have been told that she is in a persistent vegetative state. This means that, although she is able to breathe unassisted, she is completely dependent on others for her care.

This care is currently being provided by the wonderful staff at Walton Neurological Centre, Liverpool. However, her complex needs mean that she will need a specific long-term placement in the near future.

After being approached by a number of her friends, it has become clear that there is a desire to help Beth, as well as a determination for something positive to come out of this.

We have created this page to try and raise funds to support any specific needs Beth may have in the future, whether this is funding towards a placement, additional equipment, or similar.

In addition, we want to support Beat – the UK’s leading eating disorders charity – to enable them to continue to support, educate and bring some much needed awareness of the devastating effects eating disorders have on everyone they touch.

We would therefore be extremely grateful for any donation you feel able to give to support this caring, thoughtful, witty, funky young lady and the many others in her position.
