Weʼre raising £1,000 to Raise money for my Trip to Borneo in 2019, where I will help communities build schools, plant trees, and see the amazing jungle wildlife.

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
My name is Betty and in the summer of 2019, I will be travelling to Borneo with Camps International, where I will spend four weeks volunteering with local communities.
I will be working on many projects, in the communities including building schools, teaching English and making bridges. We will build school kitchens which will help provide the only meals that some children in Borneo will have for the whole day. The majority of children don't go to school for many months in Borneo, either as a result of the flooding of rivers or to help their parents in farming, so the bridges will help children get to school easily across rivers when the monsoons in Borneo make their travel to school difficult. As well we will be clearing marine refuse from coastlines to help keep beautiful beaches clean and sustainable.
There is a huge amount of deforestation each day in the jungles in Borneo to make way for oil palm plantations. This is not only contributing to global warming, but is also destroying the habitat for the endangered orangutan amongst other species. Whilst in Borneo, we will plant hundreds of trees each day in order to help restore the jungle. Borneo is also one of two places in the world where you can still see orang-utans in the wild, so we will help to restore some of their habitat, one way may be planting food trees for them or planning environmental education workshops for locals.
As well as my Just Giving page, I will be fundraising with my friend Grace to reach our goal by organising movie nights, bake sales, quizzes, sports days and much more to allow us to have the opportunity to help some amazing communities and have the most amazing four weeks in 2019 after we finish our A levels.
