Story
Nearly a year ago we decided that we were ready to add to our family and adopt a dog. Our search took us to BARK ( Babworth) Rescue at Retford where we fell in love with the beautiful Betty! What we didnt realise at the time was that Betty or Chance as her wonderful rescurer had named her had been rescued from a kill shelter in Campina, Romania. Neither Andy or myself knew anything about these Romanian dogs, but upon noticing a hole in one of Bettys ears and wondering why she was scared of any sudden movements, noises, pretty much her own shadow we decided to google “Campina Public Shelter, and ear tagging” What we discovered was heart breaking. This lead us to track down the amazing women that rescued Betty from the public (kill) shelter, Sorina and help her raise money. The shelter is now being run by people that actually want to help the poor souls and give them a shelter in the cruel Romanian winter that kills so many dogs that have already suffered so much yet still show warmth and compasion to us humans!
