    Story

Meet Maggie, seen here with our son Jonah just after he was born.
Anyone that's ever met her will agree, she is the most friendly, larger than life dog you will ever meet. We adopted her from a breeding farm 3 years ago. She was quiet, shy, cautious, in a terrible condition and had no idea how to play with other dogs. She was literally kept in a barn and forced to breed - that was her life.
We applied to adopt her and give her the forever home that she desperately needed. From the first day she came to live with us the true Maggie started to emerge. The one who loves her tummy tickled; who deliberately sneezes on your dinner because she knows that you won't want to eat it and you'll give it to her instead. Taylor's, and especially Sarah, have given Maggie the opportunity to learn the social skills she was missing. She's become a dog that other dogs now enjoy being with, whilst Maggie now yearns for the company of her friends. She isn't able to see them at the moment as she has developed a number of physical problems that is preventing her from safely doing so. Maggie first started limping last summer and we didn't think much of it as we put it down to over-exuberance. It worsened to the point where she started becoming lame in her left leg. Exploratory x-rays taken discovered she had a 'floating knee cap', treatable by surgery. A second opinion vet investigated further and she was referred to tv's "The Supervet".They subsequently discovered that Maggie had ruptured her cruciate ligament and had also started to develop chronic arthritis. Maggie needs a series of operations. She's had one already to deal with the floating knee cap and to repair the ruptured ligament. She needs both her hips operated on due to socket abnormalities and her other knee. She is in constant pain. if you are able help then we THANK YOU from the bottom of Maggie's box of toys (which is very deep)

Andrew, Meriel, Mrs.Chips the cat (Maggie's bf) and of course Maggie herself xxx
