Story
We are participating in the Wiggle Hill-a-Saurus mountain bike ride on November 18th 2017. The course is 25 mile long, and includes 1725 feet of climbing, deep sandy bogs and technical single track along the Jurassic Coastline. We are raising funds to help William's family build a small extension to their home in order to help with the complex 24 hour care that William needs.
William is a friend of Harry's at Gillingham Secondary School.
William is a 14 year old boy, with a wicked sense of humour. He suffers from Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy and requires 24 hour care. William has severe problems with his hips, pelvis and back, and has a constant battle with pain. He has had over 15 major operations, and will require regular surgery throughout his life. William's seizures can come at any time, although the majority come during sleep, which means he needs constant supervision throughout the day and night.
Williams home needs substantial alterations to make it safe, and a comfortable place for him to grow up and to enable his parents to continue his long term care. The Edkins family need to raise funds to cover the cost of building a small extension to house proper bathroom and toilet facilities, and a bedroom for him to grow into!
Please help make Williams life as comfortable as possible, for now and his long term future!
