What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

I enjoy doing voluntary work and making a difference in society. Having the ability to help those less fortunate than ourselves and hopefully being able to provide a sense of hope for families and individuals is what motivates me in wanting to do this. From a very young age, I have always been interested in helping others making a positive impact to lives.

I will be undertaking a few challenges in the coming months in order to raise as much money as possible for great causes. Details of the challenges are below:

Challenge 1: I have decided to take part in the Jurassic Coast walking Challenge on Sat 21st July 2018. The distance is 24km minimum - starting from Poole. For those that know me well will know that I am not exactly a keen walker - but despite the recent hot weather, I have been training for this intense physical challenge. UPDATE: I managed to exceed my target and ended up walking 42km (26 miles - a marathon!). Blister plasters and bandages definitely helped me get through this tough challenge!

Challenge 2: Trekking to EVEREST Base Camp!

In October 2018, I will be heading to Nepal. During this time, I will be challenging myself (probably the craziest idea I have had to date, I know!) to complete this 12 - 15 days hike. If I manage to survive the most iconic trek (one for the bucket list!) - with all the altitude sickness and lack of oxygen at 5500+ meters (feels scary just thinking about it), I intend to do some voluntary work out there. This is where you all come in :) Your donations will support me through the gruelling challenge itself and the training that faces me in the weeks prior to my departure (less than 4 weeks to go now...). Nepal is one of the world’s poorest nations. In 2015, Nepal was hit by an earthquake which has left devastating impacts to the lives of locals. I am hoping to reach out to the people affected and make a positive impact. This includes (but not limited to) providing hampers and other essential items.

Within the UK, part of the funds raised will be used in supporting a local homeless charity by providing hampers over the winter period.

Please help and support me in this challenge by donating whatever you can - no matter how small - as every pound will help continue my efforts and passion in making a difference to the lives of others and those less fortunate.

"Happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give"

Thanking you in advance for your donation and continued support.
