I'm raising £200 to Make a difference to a deaf child’s world

Story

Our beautiful boy, Brooks, was born with profound bilateral hearing loss. At just a few months old, his world is already so very different from what we imagined — a world that, without help, risks being one of silence.

While the NHS provides essential medical care, there is tragically no government funding for the things that truly give deaf children a voice — things like British Sign Language (BSL) tuition, annd auditory verbal therapy. These are life-changing tools that could help Brooks, and other children like him, connect with the world around them — yet families are left to fund them alone.

We believe every child deserves to be heard.

That’s why, as a family, we are starting a new charity: B Heard — to support families in accessing the communication tools their deaf children need. We’re currently going through OSCR registration, and While we aren't fully registered just yet and aren't preparing for any fundraising ourselves, something really special happened:

Dundee Arc Fire & rescue services & supporters reached out to honour our wee B in the Kiltwalk. This beautiful gesture came at the exact time we sent off our charity application - it felt like a little sign that we're on the right path.

These amazing and generous individuals are raising the very first funds for B's charity - with 100% of proceeds going to change the lives of deaf children.

(If, for any reason, our charity application isn't approved, all funds will go to an already established charity supporting deaf children.)

Our hearts are so full. Our gratitude is endless.♥️
