I've raised £500 to donate to two charities, namely Breast Cancer Now & Prostate Cancer UK

I suppose by making this public, it makes it real!!
I have decided to cycle the Way of the Roses route in two weeks' time, in aid of Breast Cancer Now and Prostate Cancer UK. (You may see I have chosen the crowdfunding option on JustGiving, this is because they do not allow you to split the money between two charities).
For those who may not be aware, the Way of the Roses is a coast to coast cycle from Morecambe to Bridlington. It is (approximately) 171 miles, and I plan to complete it solo, in under three days.
On Tuesday 21st March, I will make my way by train to Morecambe and start my cycle. I still haven’t decided where I am going to stay on night one or night two, but I hope to arrive in Bridlington (sometime) Thursday.
I feel a little ill-prepared, but I have some annual leave to take from work, and I wanted to do something worthwhile and meaningful. I wanted a challenge, and I wanted to raise some money for my chosen charities. I know that this challenge will not be as difficult for me, as it is for the hundreds of thousands of men and women diagnosed with cancer each year, but I hope my few days of struggle might encourage you to donate if you are able to do so.
I am doing this in aid of Breast Cancer Now and Prostate Cancer UK, and any funds raised will be split equally between the two. If you have any spare pounds or pennies to donate, it would be hugely appreciated.
I plan to keep you up to date with the journey via Facebook/Instagram/LinkedIn. Whilst writing this post, I have not yet ridden my bike with cleats (freshly purchased last week) and I changed my inner tube for only the second time on Saturday (eeeeek, wish me luck!). I hope a lot of determination, and some sunshine, will get me through it.
It’ll be a challenge, but a worthwhile one.
Thank you in advance for any support, words of wisdom and donations 🙏🏽
