Story

Thanks to the incredible response from the community, our mission has gained fantastic momentum, but this opportunity to have a greater impact also poses a problem. As a non-profit Community Interest Company, we have limited resources and need your support to keep driving positive change.

In the aftermath of the recent floods, the urgency to combat environmental challenges has never been more pressing. That's why we're rallying together with the University of Derby, Derby College, Impactoverse, and local businesses for a major clean up effort along the River Derwent and its banks.

But to make this vision a reality, we need your help. The overwhelming response means we require additional resources such as litter-picking equipment, gazebos for meeting points, and more. These essentials will ensure our clean-up efforts are not only effective but also sustainable.

Beyond the clean-up, we're committed to fostering a sense of community and environmental stewardship. That's why we're rolling out an array of post-clean-up activities to celebrate community support and highlight the importance of environmental conservation. Among these are an upcycling workshop led by the renowned Max McMurdo, from Channel 4’s “Amazing Spaces” and “Tool Club, a performance by X-Factor's All-Singing-All-Dancing Star, and former member of Only Boys Aloud, Russell Jones, and a meet and greet with Team GB Olympic athlete, William Sharman. We’ll also be filming for our cinema promo and will have press in attendance.

This is more than an event; it's a movement. Your support isn't just a donation—it's an investment in a better future for our planet and our community. Let's ignite a spark for impact that demonstrates the undeniable strength of community in protecting our planet.Join us on this journey towards a cleaner, greener world.

Think Ocean’s roots lie with a group of environmentalists who together in 1992, united several organisations towards a common goal; to stop the hunting of whales in the South Pacific and creating "The Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary".
