Story

CrossFit Devizes, a small independent gym based in Wiltshire are going to take on a mammoth challenge which would test the strongest of people in this world, let alone in our tiny gym community!

We aim to cycle 200 miles, trek 100 miles and finally row 50 miles.

None stop - back to back - in around 50 hours!

We will be starting our adventure up in the North West of England in Cockermouth, Lake Distirct on Saturday 25th May 2019. From here we will take on a 16 hour cycle, 200 miles south to Bridgnorth (near Birmingham). From here we will ditch the bicycles and continue on foot for a further 100 miles in around 30 hours continuous, back to our home town and gym. Then finally here we will row 50 miles on concept 2 rowers inside the gym.

We aim to complete this life changing challenge in aid of two very worthy causes:

Firstly, we will be raising money for a local charity in devizes called Julia's House, which offer respites to families looking after very sick children 24/7. They make a truly amazing impact to families right on our doorstep and further afield.

Secondly, a short few weeks ago, one of CrossFit's Devizes' coaches, devastatingly lost her father in a tragic car accident who was air lifted to Southampton General Hospital and cared for by the amazing doctors, nurses and staff of the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit. Unfortunately, Andy lost his fight and sadly passed away in January. Just a small donation to support this hospital unit will help the family thank all them for everything they did and support they offered during such a difficult time.

This challenge ahead will push every single person both physically and mentally, more than ever thought possible.

The brave list of people crazy enough to give this their all are:

Adam Bentley, Kev Chandler, Emma Wright, Doug Downing, Luke Morgan, Alex Wallace, Bronte Newstead, Martin Earley, George Walsh, Ash Stevens, Roger Edwards, Lizzy Skey and Wes Habershon.

Please make this journey worthwhile by donating just a small amount and help us make a difference to this world for the better.

We cannot thank you enough for any donation, small or large.

See you at the finish line! 😃
