I've raised £500 to support Beverley Rugby Club

I am convinced of the merits of local community sports clubs, whether it be rugby union, rugby league, football, hockey, cricket, or any other competitive team sport. I believe they provide physical, psychological and social benefits for young and old alike.
In my job as a GP, I have lost count of the number of times I have suggested to a young person that they would benefit from joining a local club, or mentioned to someone that they might enjoy a Saturday afternoon on the touchline.
The combination of improving physical fitness, perhaps adding some structure at a troubled time and most importantly offering friendship and support is invaluable. I remember these were things I appreciated hugely when I arrived in Beverley and joined the rugby family.
Community sports clubs have gone through a difficult period during the pandemic, I would like to raise some money for Beverley RUFC so that it remains in good health for young men and women to carry on playing the game that I love, well into the future.
I plan to run the London Half Marathon on my 60th birthday this year. If you would like to support me with a small donation, I would be very grateful, and would look forward to seeing you pitchside when matches resume.
