It is the crisis that has never gone away. The refugee crisis. There are currently nearly 71 million people in the world displaced for their homes, the highest number since World War Two. Ordinary men, women, and children. Just like us. Men, women, and children who had homes, jobs and their children went to school.
Ordinary families who now live in a very different community – in a refugee camp.
BIGG Welcome is working to help one of these families. We cannot help them all, but we can help one. Bringing together residents in Biggleswade, and working through the government’s community sponsorship scheme, we are raising funds to prepare a resettlement plan that will hopefully create a supportive and welcoming network for a refuge family to come to safety and start to rebuild their lives in our lovely town.
We can make a difference to someone’s life, to a family’s life, so any donation would be truly appreciated. Thank you.

As I didn’t contribute with cakes or manage to make a visit to today’s Bigg Welcome market stall, I want to support the cause with a donation instead. I’m glad the rain held off. xx
