Story

We are aiming to raise at least £6,000 for Big Hearts 4 Small Paws cat rescue, based in Crawley, West Sussex.

Big Hearts 4 Small Paws is an independent cat rescue established in 2022 after taking over from another rescue, of which I volunteered for and was ran for 2 years prior.

We provide safe, structured foster homes for cats who have been abandoned, surrendered, or are at risk. Our focus is responsible rescue, proper rehabilitation of the cats within our care to then be able to place them with suitable and loving forever homes.

We believe in doing things properly — not quickly — ensuring every cat receives the care, stability, and respect they deserve.

Whether you are looking to adopt, foster, donate, or simply support our work, you are helping vulnerable cats move from uncertainty to safety. Every adoption, every share, and every contribution makes a measurable difference.

We are community-driven and volunteer-led, welcoming responsible and compassionate individuals who want to be part of that mission.

Since January 1st 2026 to date, 20th June 2026, we have had 330 cats and kittens handed over and/or born into our care.

These range from feral cats from the streets, those abandoned to fend for themselves and those loved, family pets that can no longer be cared for.

We have seen a massive influx in pregnant cats and kittens this year, compared to the last couple. Neutering your cat is one of the best things you can do for them. Not just to stop unwanted and unnecessary pregnancies, but to stop the transmission of illnesses and diseases, and fighting and spraying over females and territory between males.

We do not get government funding, so rely solely on the kindness of donations from the general public. Some of our foster carers pay out of their own pocket for food and litter for the cats in our care, which is such a lovely thing to do.

All of our cats are vet checked, regularly flea and worm treated, many need bloods and dental, neutering, microchipping and vaccinating.

Any donation, no matter how big or small are always appreciated, and I will always do my best to thank each person individually.
