    Story

Well known people around Ayrshire, Tam Cairns, Allan Haggo, Gordon McKenzie and I are leading the "Hubby Memorial" initiative.

John Gaulton Hubbard, MBE (16 December 1930 – 21 June 2018) was a South African footballer. Johnny’s primary sport was Football playing for Glasgow Rangers, Bury, in England before ending his career back in Scotland with Ayr United where he retired staying in Prestwick. Johnny became involved in local community sport, working for the Council, but he was still active at many sports. Captaining Prestwick Cricket Club, Managing and coaching as Prestwick Tennis courts as well as coaching Football at schools across the Ayrshire region. His contribution to children and sport in Ayrshire is immeasurable. We are a small group of people who personally knew the man and felt it would be fitting to recognise the contributions made by Johhny by providing a memorial in Prestwick to show the appreciation of the local community for all the hard work done by Johnny for the region.

Page 2 of 2 - How we manage the funds Funds: In both options above, depending on how much finally receive, the team has full access and auditable to review current status and audit trail of monies in and monies out. In both cases all monies will be fully utilised. If we collect any excess money, with the blessing of the family, we plan to distribute excess funds to local sports groups equally, but this must be finalised. No monies will be given or taken by any team members; our time and work is fully voluntary. Once again a huge thanks !

Hello everyone, Update. On behalf of the whole team and I we would all like to thank you for your kind donations so far, we are just getting started! We thought it would be good to expand on our plans and ensure complete transparency for the “Hubby Memorial” Memorial: The team have discussed two possible options. 1. Is a wall face plaque of Johnny with verbiage explaining some history ~£5,000 2. Our aspirational option is a cairn with a bust of Johnny in composite materials again with verbiage explaining some history ~£22,500 1 of 2 pages
