I've raised £5000 to provide a memorial in Prestwick for Johnny Hubbard, MBE as appreciation for work done by Johnny for our local community

Well known people around Ayrshire, Tam Cairns, Allan Haggo, Gordon McKenzie and I are leading the "Hubby Memorial" initiative.
John Gaulton Hubbard, MBE (16 December 1930 – 21 June 2018) was a South African footballer. Johnny’s primary sport was Football playing for Glasgow Rangers, Bury, in England before ending his career back in Scotland with Ayr United where he retired staying in Prestwick. Johnny became involved in local community sport, working for the Council, but he was still active at many sports. Captaining Prestwick Cricket Club, Managing and coaching as Prestwick Tennis courts as well as coaching Football at schools across the Ayrshire region. His contribution to children and sport in Ayrshire is immeasurable. We are a small group of people who personally knew the man and felt it would be fitting to recognise the contributions made by Johhny by providing a memorial in Prestwick to show the appreciation of the local community for all the hard work done by Johnny for the region.
