Story

We are raising money to fund a pool hoist so that we are able to offer swimming for everyone in the community, including our disability and low mobility swimmers and wheelchair users.

Unfortunately, the cost of this isn't cheap and we are asking for help to raise this money for the community that desperately needs it. We feel the local area is lacking in accommodating facilities for swimmers with disabilities and additional needs. We are looking to raise £12,000 which will help pay for the pool hoist and the installation.

We are also doing a fundraiser, a swim-a-thon on the 19th November 2022, at the pools that we use, but any additional help would be extremely appreciated.

Swimming for those with additional needs is so beneficial. The movement of the body in water offers a sense of freedom for those with limited mobility and can provide effective physiotherapy, making swimming the sport of choice for many disabled young people and adults, plus the added social side of swimming boosts mental health and helps rehabilitate those that need it.
