Story

Hi my name is bill I am writing this story asking for HELP i have been FIGHTING Guillain Barré Syndrome/ CIDP since August 2013. Throughout my journey me and my family and friends have done numerous things to raise thousands for both GAIN - a Guillian Barre Syndrome charity and also Walton Neuro's charity. So many people we have met along the way have taken to sites like just giving to try and raise funds directly for their friends and family when they been thrown into crisis, and now, however hard I find it to ask for help for myself I have decided to set up this crowd funder, to hopefully aid my rehabilitation in the HOPE of walking again.

I have been left in misery now because I feel TRAPPED INSIDE so often, restricted in so many ways by a body that could be improved if had professional help with extended physio and rehab - but this is not possible without funding so I am reaching out to others in the hope that I can try and improve my quality of life again. When I suddenly became ill had to spend extended time in hospital and intensive care. I was left paralysed with no use of hands and legs. Going into 2019 it is my hope that I can tackle the disabilities GBS has left me with head on with some concentrated and specialised physiotherapy and rehabilitation sessions. This is what i desperately needs to give me a chance to walk unaided again, on my two dropped feet I now have and with the muscle wastage and nerve damage to my legs. I have made very good progress but I know and believe with the correct treatment it would be possible to WALK unaided, this is why I am now asking for HELP.

I used to have a car showroom, be a driving instructor, property developing - Workaholic ! Having to take a back seat in life now is heart-breaking for me, to have his legs back working as they should would be life-changing. My strength to stand for long periods and balance is limited although I can walk with crutches I think so much more could be achieved if I could have the physio and rehabilitation to enable me to walk again properly.

CIDP has left me like this, CIDP stands for Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, this is believed to be due to immune cells, which normally protect the body from foreign infection, incorrectly attacking the nerves in the body instead. As a result, the affected nerves fail to respond. This causes loss of movement in varying degrees in patients, pneumonia and several other complications tried to end MY life but I WILL NOT GIVE UP I am still here FIGHTING.

Thank you to all those you have helped and supported me so far.
