Story

In October 2017, Billy was diagnosed with Hyperaldosteronism. The apparent symptom was his inability to lift up his head and a stiff posture, due to muscle weakness.

Billy returned home from staying at the vet hospital for two days. After two weeks on the prescribed medication , Billy began vomiting for 5 days consecutively as a result. Quitting the meds as they had side effects making him more sick, I decided to use only Apple Cider Vinegar in Billy's diet to manage his condition holistically which he responded well to, however he is a fussy eater and this makes it difficult to maintain.

Towards the end of January 2018 after not eating properly, Billy started showing signs of muscle weakness again and seems very uncomfortable, limping and unable to wander up and down the stairs as he loves to. I have to carry him when he meows to either go to do his business outside or to get around. As you know, cats are very independent creatures and Billy not being able to get around comfortably saddens him and I can't bear to watch it, let alone be there 24/7 to help.

The Vet said it's a life-long condition with medication unless we have surgery done to get his adrenal gland removed, which is the cause of his hyperaldosteronism. This surgery costs £5,000. The fees I had to pay at the vets when he was diagnosed was over £1,500 as I had no pet insurance. I cannot afford an extra £5,000 but the operation would effectively end Billy's suffering and I am asking for your help because I love him dearly, he is my best friend and I want him around and happy for as long as possible.

Thank you.
