Story
Bingham Penguins is a disability swimming club that supports children and vulnerable adults with a wide range of needs. The club is run entirely by a team of volunteers including an experienced and qualified poolside team. Young people from local schools provide support and encouragement to our swimmers. Some of the swimmers compete at regional and national events. The club is a fully registered charity and has the SwimMark accreditation. The club needs additional funding to provide these sessions. On April 29th 2018, I will be abseiling from The Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth. I will be joined by my friends Simon Sailsbury, Matt Talbot and Simon Talbot who are also supporting Bingham Penguins in this fundraising effort. Your support will be gratefully received by the club.

6 years agoWE DID IT!!!! We finally conquered the descent of the Spinnaker Tower yesterday. The weather behaved for our second trip to Portsmouth. The abseil was great fun combined with stunning views of Portsmouth and beyond. Thank you to you all for your fantastic donations. We are totalling the amount raised from this Just Giving page and from other donations. Bingham Penguins Swimming Club is hugely grateful for this fundraising event. We couldn't have done it without your help.

6 years agoToday was abseil day. Unfortunately the weather had other ideas! We waited all morning to see if the wind would lighten but instead it got stronger so the event was cancelled. We were all very disappointed that we were so near and yet so far as you can see from the photo below. We have now re-scheduled our abseil for Sunday 13th May so fingers crossed the weather will behave and we can try again. Thanks so much for your kind donations and we will keep you updated on our second attempt.

6 years agoHello everyone! Simon Sailsbury, Simon Talbot, Matt Talbot and myself are abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth this Sunday at 9.30am to raise money for Bingham Penguins disability swimming club. We've checked the weather and it's looking good, cloudy with a light breeze. Thank you very much to everyone who has donated. We have reached 89% of our target and I know how much the swimmers will benefit from your kind donations. If you haven't donated yet and you feel that you can give a little bit we would be very grateful.
