Birchy has kindly offered to continue to grow his hair and beard until this date to raise funds to support the Village Hall to keep the facilities up to date; which is getting more and more difficult in these austere times. He is a trustee of the charity (New Mills Village Hall charity commission no. 502559). He also lives in the village and has lived in the surrounding area all his life and this cause is close to his heart.

PLEASE support this worthwhile cause and follow the updates along the way - we're even going to run a competition on the evening, "Guess the weight of the shaved hair & beard" :-D Lots of other competitions and stalls - homemade cakes and produce yummy!!! Come along and join in the fun - everyone will be assured of a warm welcome. If you like dressing up, there is also a Fancy Dress competition (open category).
