Story
About us here @ BJF Connections
We are a local Construction company based in Kent. Some wise guy had the brilliant idea that we should take on the national Three Peaks Challenge!
He has now managed to persuade 13 unsuspecting souls into taking on this challenge over the weekend of the 29th June 2018.
We are also using this fantastic opportunity to help raise funds for two causes that are close to our hearts here @ BJF. All donations to this page will be split equally between the two. The two causes in question are;
Mia May's Movement;
Mia is a very special little girl close to the hearts of a group of us here at BJF, including our Director Barry Foster who is close personal friends with Mia’s Parents Jo and Nick.
Mia was born on 31st July 2014 and at about 10 months old was diagnosed with a severe visual impairment. At first this was thought to be her only condition but unfortunately this is not the case. MRI scans at Great Ormond Street Hospital have revealed that Mia’s brain is not developing as it should and Mia is still unable to walk or talk or do any of the other things a 3 year old should be able to do. After three years of testing and involvement in a genetic study called the 100 thousand genome project with the hope of getting answers to Mia's condition, unfortunately news has come back that her condition remains unknown.
Please help us raise money to support Mia with her needs and the ongoing Physio and Hydrotherapy needed to fulfill her dreams of being able to walk on her own two feet and lead the life any parent would wish for. Physio and Hydrotherapy has meant that Mia is now able to bare weight on her legs and is one step closer to her dream, without this therapy these achievements would not be made so all your donations will truly have such a positive impact on Mia's developments.

Young Lives Foundation;
Young Lives Foundation focus on providing support to vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people. Two of our employees have experienced first hand the great work they do.
One of our climbers unfortunately had a terrible house fire, Young Lives saw the devastating news and contacted her straight away to make a donation including a bike to her son in time for Christmas.
Another is part of a family that have fostered children for over 5 years, this charity offers mentors who volunteer to take the Foster children out to do activities they enjoy monthly. This provides exciting opportunities for them to gain self-esteem, learn new skills, whilst developing trust in people again.
It’s so nice to share the love in our big hearts and just to see the children’s happy faces. It somewhat makes this sometimes horrible world seem so much kinder.
The Young Lives Foundation truly deserve our donations as they really do make a difference!

About the Three Peaks Challenge;
The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, often within 24 hours.
The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) - twice the ascent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, over a similar total walking distance. The total driving distance is 462 miles.
We are all pushing ourselves to the limit to achieve this challenge (even the ones who hate walking!). We have been training for months and are almost ready for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
