Story
Black Dog Outdoors is aimed at supporting people in getting outdoors to improve their mental health. There are many physical and mental health benefits to "green exercise" but, mental health issues being as they are, not everyone has the confidence or competence to take those first steps.
We do the hard work for them by planning organised events, fully supported by MTA qualified leaders and instructors, and also by Mental Health First Aiders. All the attendees have to do is turn up on the day, make some new friends, and have a great experience.
We work on a voluntary basis but are supported by the British Mountaineering Council, Mountain Training Association, and Mountaineering Scotland among others. We're also collaborating with a number of other organisations (with similar aims as ours) to ensure that we are able to cater for the needs of many.
We're looking to become a registered charity, which will help us to raise funding for future events so that we can engage with more people. However, to become a registered charity we need to be able to demonstrate an income of £5,000 within a year, which is the purpose of this fundraising page.
By donating to our cause you will help us to achieve this target. Every penny will help us to help others!
