Story
Chris and Rachel Nelson-parents Blaise Nelson-aged 6, son and brother to; Asha Nelson-sister, aged 3
Blaise has a brain tumour and tumours reaching down through his spine. It is possibly low grade glioma
His lead consultant is neuro oncologist Dr J P Kilday
He will be receiving chemotherapy for 85 weeks with reviews throughout, although it will continue to be a chronic disease for the rest of his life.
Blaise has had an operation to remove his brain cancer and they took away between 30 and 40% of a clementine sized growth. He has a metal plate and a two pins in his skull. This is being looked at by 5 pathologists to determine exactly what it is. It has also gone to methylation testing.
The last scan reviewed shows the area in the brain where they de-bulked has not got worse, the other areas in the brain and his spine have. They are now suggesting radiotherapy.
Blaise has been in and out of hospital since the beginning of the treatment with various issues.
