    Story

    Dear Family and Friends,

On October 1st 2017 - I will run my second marathon with an aim to beat my current time of 3 hours 28 minutes.

This time, I am doing so, to raise money for a family directly affected by the tragedy at Grenfell Tower. (I've decided not to share the name of the family publicly in order to respect their privacy at this time - but contact either myself or Sam if you have any questions.)

I would love your support - even if you are only able to help with £1 or £2.

As many of you will know, our flat is just across the road from Grenfell and Sam, my wife, who has lived in the area all her life, is working closely with a number of families who lost everything that night.

What we have seen and heard first hand in the last 7 weeks has been indescribable. Immeasurable.

You can't even begin to tell you what some of the families have been through and I can't imagine the sheer level of their loss.

For those of you who have watched the news, for those that have followed everything online will know that many donations raised by charities have not yet reached the families. Of the estimated £20 million raised, it was recently reported (BBC) that approximately only 4% of the donations have been actually been shared with the victims. It's not certain how soon they will receive these donations.

Please know that your donation will be shared directly with the family we are supporting, as soon as I have completed the marathon.

We can't erase the devastation and we know that no amount of fundraising will ever enable those who lived in Grenfell to recover all that they have truly lost.

But what we can do, is keep helping. Little by little, one family at a time. If you have any questions at all, just email me on hello@blaisedj.com

Thanks for supporting - wish me luck.
