Story

This Baby Loss Awareness Week we are raising £1,000 to support Sands, Sands United and Ipswich Baby Bereavement Group who do amazing work in supporting families that have tragically lost babies before, during or after childbirth.

We will be playing Sands United Norwich in a football match to commemorate our lost angels. On the weekend when Ipswich Town play Norwich City in the East Anglian derby we will unite East Anglia through a common cause.

Families across Suffolk have suffered the tragedy of losing a baby before, during or after childbirth and this pain continues with you forever. The support that Sands and locally, Ipswich Baby Bereavement Group offers thousands of people across Suffolk and beyond is a lifeline.

Sands United Ipswich was formed in 2020 and uses the power of football to bring men together who have gone through this pain and more often than not have not known how to cope or where to turn for support. We are that group. For the last 5 years we have raised money to support local groups, activities and things like the memorial tree and garden at Holywells Park. We have run football, walking, pub quiz sessions and have an online support group for whenever anyone needs help or to talk.
