Story
From Friday June 19th, 40 children aged 5 to 18, from Eyam and Foolow with a few local friends intend to cycle the distance of this year’s Tour De France (3,470 km) in 10 days! The children wish to help the wider community as well as their own by supporting the valuable work carried out by the 'Blend Project'.
Th e children have been inspired by the fantastic efforts of the 32 children from the neighbouring village of Grindleford who cumulatively ran a total of 1,407km (the equivalent of John O’Groats to Lands End) in 9 days to raise funds for the Eyam Pump Track and Matlock Food Bank.

Unlike the pros these children (some as young as 5) will mostly be riding mountain bikes and will have to ride every day for 10 consecutive days over the hills of the Peak District to complete their challenge.
Blend Youth Project aims to provide spaces, supportive relationships and opportunities in which young people experience our core values of Belonging, Hope, Value, Compassionate Care & Inclusion.
Here they can enjoy activities and access services designed to improve their leisure time opportunities, promote their health & quality of life, reduce their risk of getting involved in alcohol/drug misuse, crime & anti-social behaviour and promote their economic well-being.
